I am a college educated women born in Baltimore, Maryland and raised in a small town in Virginia named Gloucester. I am separated and the mother of two children, 13 years and 3yr old. (We share a birthday!)
I love to sew and have a shop on Etsy, babytagalongtotes.etsy.com. I first had my hand at sewing at the young age of 11, and had the bug ever since.
2007 was a trasitioning year for me as I was in search of something I was missing. It was more God, so I began to seek Him by watching Pastor’s like T.D. Jakes and Joyce Meyers. It was then that I also rekindled my love of writing poetry which bit me at the young age of 9 after my 5th grade teacher made us learn and recite poetry.
As time passed, my heart grew tired of my career in Maryland State Government. I had made several contacts around town and in the summer of 2008 I took a month-long hiatus from my job to pursue my dream in owning and operating a boutique for tall women of all sizes. But, it became a dream deferred. The slowed economy and banking troubles halted everything. Not to mention, it was not what God wanted me to do.
In 2009 I resigned from my job, and in 2010 I got married to later become separated and pregnant within a matter of months. I did not understand why I was going through so much, but I knew whatever it was God would never leave me nor forsake me. It was His promised words that I took personally that kept and keeps me going.
Throughout the end of 2010 and up until September 2011 I prayed and prayed for God to show me what it was He required of me, what was my purpose in His will. I had longed discovered that I was an intercessor but it wasn’t until September that I finally heard the words of Christ call out to me and say that my purpose was intercessory prayer and that He needed me to pray for His children Of course my flesh surfaced and said but God, I am not a Pastor, Minister, Reverend, or deaconess even.. then He gently reminded me that He was/is the master of my fate, that He has the final say, and that He will be with me.
So, in October 2011, I finally decided enough was enough. Especially after the word I received from a visiting minister to my home church. I had to decide no more worrying about what someone else would say of what God has ordained for me to do. So what if you are not an ordained anything…. God has ordered it, and it was time for me to “Walk In It!” So, I am now determined to do the work in which God has required of me to do. I am so excited about the different avenues in which He has showed me to do His work.
I pray you all will receive what you are expecting from God through my faith walk and testimonial. I encourage all of you in the name of the Lord to pursue your God-given purpose. There is nothing more refreshing.
